Rekha Thapa is the most popular actress, movie maker, and model and in the Nepalese film industry. In 1999 Rekha was a top ten finalist for Miss Nepal. She has worked in around 200 Nepalese films. She made her acting debut with Chhabiraj Ojha's Hero [2000] opposite Rajesh Hamal. In 2011 Rekha Thapa won the NEFTA Film Awards for Best Actress. She thusly procured wide acknowledgment for her exhibitions in Hero, Kasle Choryo Mero Man, Kasam Hajur Ko, Kali, Rudrapriya, Rampyaari. She got the CG Digital Film Awards for Best Actress. 

Rekha Thapa was born in Salakpur in Nepal. Her father's name is Prem Thapa and her mother's name is Saraswoti Thapa. After schooling, she moved to Kathmandu for higher education. 

As she had a robust desire to be an actress, she continued to participate in various modeling glances & glamorous programs. Later she took part in the Miss Nepal Pageant in 1999 and ended up in the Top 10. Two years later she acted in the debut movie Hero.

Rekha Thapa also very popular as a producer. she has an own production house called Rekha Entertainment.  Rekha Thapa produced more than 10 Nepalese films under the name Rekha Films.
